Challenge
Get Gen Z and millennials to sign up to learn with Duolingo by creating a buzz-worthy idea that taps into their fandoms and helps them get more out of what they love.
Campaign Idea
Crazy Fan Behavior
K-pop fans do crazy things for idols just to feel closer. They learn every single song, memorize all the lyrics even if they don’t know the language, buy tons of albums just to show support, watch every show and interview they are on, and wait in a line all night just to be in the front line of a concert.
Yet, the best way to stay close is to learn the language that their idols are speaking. This is what die-hard fans do. Because they get to understand everything they say immediately.
It’s the truest and craziest fan behavior.
Positioning
For non-Korean speaking K-pop fans who want to learn Korean because they want to be closer to their idols, Duolingo is an effective and fun language learning tool that understands their crazy fan behaviors and supports them along the way.
This campaign targets K-pop fans around the globe between the ages of 16-34 and wants to keep non-Korean speaking K-pop fan motivated to use Duolingo to learn Korean.
